Reflection
A portion of the signal power (voltage and current) transmitted down the line goes into the load, and a portion is reflected back

Cross Talk

What is the interaction between signals on two different electrical nets. The one creating crosstalk is called an aggressor, and the one receiving it is called a victim. Often, a net is both an aggressor and a victim.

Impedance
The quantity that measures the opposition of a circuit to the passage of a current and therefore determines the amplitude of the current.

Signal Integrity
Signal integrity is the ability of a signal to generate correct responses in a circuit. A signal with good signal integrity has digital levels at required voltage levels at required times.

Skew
Skew Signal is the difference in time in arrival of one signal to different receivers on the same net.

Slew
Slew rate is the edge rate (rate of change of a signal voltage with respect to time

Services | PCB Layout

Shax Engineering offers world-class, state of the art and reliable PCB layout services.  Due to the increment of the electronics component pins count and packages, layout designers are faced with enormous challenges to produce a layout that meets the engineering characteristics. In addition, components shall be aligned to reduce the trace length, reduce the real state of the board and produce PCB layout that is glitch free.

The PCB engineers objectives are to  reduce board noise due to the power plane distribution, terminate the signal lines to diminish signal reflection, minimize cross talk and ringing between parallel traces, reduce the effects of ground bounce and meet the matching impedance characteristics.

Shax Engineering layout designers will route the signal path for a given NETLIST without deteriorating the engineering characteristics of the signal path. Proper routing of the transmission lines and traces, will maintain the  signal integrity, hence reducing the levels of noise due to cross talk, reflections and ringing.  We will pay attention to the PCB engineer's instructions and guidelines to maintain the design characteristics and avoid issues related to deterioration of the design integrity. In addition we will incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) practice and alternatives are evaluated for overall design economics. We will balance the effort and cost associated with development and refinement of the design to the cost and quality that can be achieved.

Our in-house software tools are enabled us to provide you with up-to-date state-of-the-art PCB layout results. Besides measuring the impedance and estimating losses due to the skew and slew, we will provide you with our recommendations to optimize your products and enhance the overall performance.

Our preliminary PCB layout check list will help you to identify these basic layout requirements. Our exceptional service will benefit you in many ways. These layout services are:

  • Layout artwork and documentation deliverables conforming to IPC standards.
  • High-speed, high-density, digital, analog and RF layout.
  • Proven PCB layout services and techniques.
